Housing Program

About The Program

CMHA Toronto’s Housing Program connects individuals living with mental illness to permanent and affordable housing, enabling them to live independently and improve the quality of their lives.

Support is provided to help individuals maintain their housing and access community resources to assist them in their recovery process. Our housing outreach workers also act as a liaison between the landlords and our tenants/clients by providing information on their respective rights and responsibilities.

CMHA Toronto is part of the Toronto Mental Health and Addictions Supportive Housing Network, a network of 29 housing providers.

Who's It For

Individuals 16+ living with a mental illness, who are homeless or at immediate risk of being homeless.

How IT Works

  1. All referrals are received through The Access Point, an intake service that provides coordinated access for housing services in Toronto. Anyone can make a referral: the individual, their family, a physician or a community worker.
  2. Once accepted, the client is matched with a house service provider.
  3. The service provider will link the client to housing with appropriate supports.
